How it plays
Build first, fight second
Sandbox keeps the familiar loop — hook, craft, expand — and then adds someone who wants what you have. The building phase is not a break from the fighting; it is preparation for it.
Hook resources out of the water
The same gathering loop as the rest of the series: what drifts past becomes what you build with.
Set up crafting stations
Stations turn salvage into dozens of craftable items. What you set up before a battle is what you fight with during it.
Arm yourself properly
Weapons and armour are crafted, not handed out. Going into a raft fight underequipped is a decision you make in the building phase.
Fight raft against raft
In PvP you face friends and other players across one or more platforms: move between rafts, damage hostile buildings and fight with what you crafted. Every action scores points — but doubloons only go to the top three, so a careful build matters more than a fast one.
