How it plays
How one run goes
Dead.io is the studio's fastest game: a top-down zombie shooter built around waves rather than survival meters. A run is short, loud and decided by what you unlocked before it started. Its short arena runs, escalating waves and between-battle upgrades create a roguelite-style progression loop.
Pick a survivor
Each survivor comes with an ability, and abilities are worth holding back for the moment a round turns. Unlocking new ones changes how a run plays, not just how it looks.
Hold the wave
You control one survivor while two allies fight beside you. Enemies escalate from biters to poison spitters and bosses, so a formation that worked in round two will not carry you through round six.
Clear the arena
Every round in an arena has to fall before the next arena opens. Progression is explicit — you always know exactly what is between you and the next unlock.
Spend what you earned
Between fights you upgrade weapons and gear. The next arena is not survivable with the loadout that just barely cleared the last one.
