Raft® Survival : Desert Nomad

Desert survival

A flying raft over an endless wasteland. Left alive in a scorched desert, you escape the sand the only way possible — on a raft that flies. Build it plank by plank, mine and produce resources, forge armour and weapons, and cross the wasteland in search of other survivors.

How it plays

The loop: mine, produce, fly, push further

Desert Nomad takes the raft idea inland and lifts it off the ground. Instead of drifting on a current you fly over a dead world, and instead of fishing salvage out of the water you mine it, refine it and carry it with you.

  1. Build a platform that flies

Your raft is an airborne base. You extend it plank by plank, add the stations that keep it running and upgrade what holds it together, because everything below wants it down.

  2. Mine, produce, stockpile

The wasteland does not hand anything over. You dig for raw material, feed it through production and build up the reserves that later expeditions run on.

  3. Forge armour and weapons

Durable gear is the difference between an expedition and a short trip. What you forge decides how far out you can go and what you can survive when you get there.

  4. Cross the world map

A dedicated flight mode moves you between desert locations, each with its own resources and its own trouble. From level 20 the Gunfight mode opens up as a separate test of aim.

  5. Restore the base in the dunes

A mysterious base lost in the sand anchors the storyline: expeditions, quests and enemies strong enough to send you back for better equipment.

Questions

Desert Nomad questions, answered

Does the raft really fly in Desert Nomad?

Yes — that is the twist of this one. The platform you build travels by air over the wasteland, and there is a dedicated flight mode for crossing the world map.

What is the Gunfight mode?

A separate shooting mode that opens up at level 20, once you have worked through the early game.

Is Desert Nomad the same game as Ocean Nomad?

No. They share the build-a-raft idea, but Desert Nomad is set in a post-apocalyptic desert with mining, production and a story about restoring a lost base. Compare the whole series.

Is Desert Nomad free?

It is free to download from the App Store and Google Play. The listing also shows in-app purchases and ads.

What do I need to play Desert Nomad?

It runs on iPhone and iPad running iOS 13.0 or later and on Android devices through Google Play.

What age rating does Desert Nomad have?

The stores rate it 9+ on the App Store and Teen on Google Play. Ratings are set by the stores, not by us.

Is Desert Nomad still being updated?

Yes — the most recent update on the official listings is dated 15 October 2025 (version 0.35.11 on iOS).

Who makes Desert Nomad?
